It sounds like you are hitting this kernel bug:

We've seen this problem on laptops having Intel Celeron N2940 CPUs and
setting the kernel parameter max_cstate=1 has made them stable so far. I
haven't tried any J1900 boards myself. The kernel bug has been open for
quite some time, so I'd guess that there's no quick fix coming..
