FWIW, I've personally built it on 2.6.38 with no problems (that was one of the first versions of lttng-modules though, it might have changed since). Someone tried to build it on 2.6.35 but it didn't work out-of-the-box and they had to backport a couple patches. Perhaps instead of a straight version check, lttng-modules should check if some kernel features are available?
