Well, It seems that the specific kernel (2.6.29.6-rt24 with preempt_rt fully
enabled) you are using is having problem with signal delivery... You are right
that lttng waits for a SIGCHLD from the spawned session daemon (which indicates
that the sessiond is ready to accept commands).

Mathieu, are you aware of any "known" problem with RT kernel with signal
delivery to the parent or what can block/stop this ?

If you tell me that this *very* specific kernel is causing this issue, I'll add
this problem to issues documentation in the git tree.
