The lttng command has a --group option which the --help describes succinctly
as the "Unix tracing group name". I have yet to manage to get this to work.
Is there a simple use case that showcases this?

I'm looking for a use case where 'lttng list' spawns a local session daemon
while 'lttng -g tracinggroupname list' does not (i.e., gets its answer from the
root session daemon). But as far as I can tell the algorithm, when the root
session daemon is running alone, consist purely of checking the lttng process's
group memberships for the session daemon's tracing group setting. Any lttng
process group setting is ignored.

Or is the --group option's intent something else entirely?
