As Ulrike Fischer pointed out to me, the German hyphenation patterns conflict
with the adjustment of kerning pairs via fontspec and OTF feature files.
Minimal example ...
bonum.fea
languagesystem DFLT dflt;
languagesystem latn dflt;
feature kern {
pos f h 100;
} kern;
test.tex
\documentclass{article}
\makeatletter\bbl@patterns{ngerman}\makeatother
\usepackage{fontspec}
\setmainfont[FeatureFile=bonum.fea]{TeX Gyre Bonum}
\begin{document}
fh aufhalten
\end{document}
Is this a bug that can be fixed or do we have to live with it?
