Ah, but then you provide the installer script - everything remains
transparent to the user.

But superuser is also a Windows concept, like with LfW we are having
to deal with administrator installs. Usual thing there is to open a
Administrator Console, so point taken.  It still feels awkward and
non-portable to expect part of a program to run on a different
privilege level...
