The rockspec is bad and should be fixed. I had a workaround on my system which accidentally got into the LR release. That's no problem as the workaoround works just fine, except that it doesn't barf on this error, which it should. Fixed it here https://github.com/keplerproject/luarocks/pull/128 But still the rockspec should be fixed.
