Hi, Some network administrators choose to block the git:// port, which still leaves users the option to git clone using http:// instead.
Could the git detection of luarocks be extended to support http:// repository urls? One possible solution would be to use git if the url ends with ".git", which would work with any supported protocol (git, http, https).
