But in the meantime I have four modules and especially six test-scripts that use datadumper, eg: http://www.pjb.com.au/comp/lua/test_mi.lua which I don't want to have to rewrite. The datadumper code works on 5.3, the only problem is lua>=5.1,<5.3 So what I suggest is: I adopt datadumper, broaden the dependencies, and put in some "this module will soon become deprecated, please move to serpent instead" message in the description ... ? Also: This would also guide searchers looking for a module to dump data towards serpent; currently it's not so easy to find. ( I guess that's why CPAN encouraged a descriptive Funtionalitygroup/Functionality naming scheme. ) Regards, Peter Billam http://www.pjb.com.au p...@pjb.com.au (03) 6278 9410 "Follow the charge, not the particle." -- Richard Feynman from The Theory of Positrons, Physical Review, 1949 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ One dashboard for servers and applications across Physical-Virtual-Cloud Widest out-of-the-box monitoring support with 50+ applications Performance metrics, stats and reports that give you Actionable Insights Deep dive visibility with transaction tracing using APM Insight. http://ad.doubleclick.net/ddm/clk/290420510;117567292;y _______________________________________________ Luarocks-developers mailing list Luarocks-developers@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/luarocks-developers
