Installing Windows is the hardest part. I once had to remove 6 of my 8Gb
memory to install Vista64 SP1 (fixed now in SP2). A 64-bit OS that can't
be installed on systems with 4Gb or more. What a bad joke...
Oh, by the way: for compiling luatex: is any windows preferred? I
would start with vista 32 bit and see what happens.
I've tried on XP32 and Vista64 and on both OS compilation was successful.
