just curious, what is the policy on updating versions of Lua and Lua

Not much of a policy, but: lua patch releases are applied as soon as
possible, lua libraries when I get around to doing a web sweep, or
when someone points out to me that there is a new version.

By the way (just curious too), do you have an idea how you'll handle major
version changes of Lua itself? I've been told Lua 6 will not be completely
backward compatible. But maybe it's too early to worry about it, since Lua 6 is
probably still a long way down the road...

The safest thing to do is to switch to a new lua after there has
already been on bugfix release. So that will be lua 5.2.1 soonish,
and lua 6.0.1 in the future.

Best wishes,
Taco
