Just to make it perfectly clear about what luatex-stripped is exactly,
can you please do another simple report:
cp luatex-nostrip luatex-strip1
cp luatex-nostrip luatex-strip2
strip luatex-strip1
strip -r -u luatex-strip2
ls -l
