Make sure you're installing it to a place you have write access to (like
somewhere within your home directory).

it. So far it runs OK as root, but I cannot get it to run correctly as a
mere mortal. The setup script returns about a gozillion errors for not
being able to register libraries when the app is run as a mere mortal.
