50MHz sun4u, 16MB RAM, and a bad NVRAM (I have to tell it a mac addy
every time I turn it on).
But it works :)
If I have time this summer, I'll look into sparc boot procedures and see
if I can get a firewall disk working.

I have been using a sparc5 with OpenBSD as my firewall for a couple years
now. It is great. It would be nice if there was a minimal linux
firewall/router distro for sparc. SuSE has the best sparc distro, but it is
WAY TOO MUCH for a little 85mhz sparc5!
I haven't played with SLXT yet, but I am very interested.

If you want the help of a local (to this list, definately non-local
physically :) firewall/iptables guru, I can help. I have a
SparcStation IPX I can test on, though it only has the one onboard
NIC.

Those Sparcs can make good diskless clients, with the only problem
being they most likely only have 8-bit color.

They also make good firewalls if you have an extra NIC.
