The server is in charge of the registers. They log in and out of the server solely on the criteria of what register they are. Counterpoint is in charge of the cashiers and the drawers. You guys are quite perceptive about the subtleties between the two. The program is very well designed to allow, for instance, a cashier to mover her assigned drawer from one register to another. The server simply determines what registers are allowed in the system and what they are allowed to do. Standard user stuff, the users just happen to be little machines.
