I don't know anything about Outlook 2000, but isn't "Evolution" supposed
to be an alternative? I have used it with Mandrake and it's a nice
program with many of the features you mention.

They are of course looking for an alternative but must still
be compatible with the majority of users who are reluctant
to change. To my knowledge they are not on an Exchange
Server network.
