Maybe we should setup a CVS repository (and interfaces to it, etc) to organize and centralize UHs projects? I know MIT has quite a few OSS projects and I think it would be nice if UH became the source of some, too.
I actually did a ICS499 project last semester that I open sourced. It's not done yet, and I haven't worked on it since the beginning of summer, but I'd like to get started again within hte next few days. > I'm hoping to post the name/etc of a new module that we're polishing now that > gives LDAP authentication for anything... Oh, I remember Prof. Biagioni mentioning something about that. > it's a module that drops in and if you authenticate, it will drop your mac > address > into the IPTables rules set and allows you traffic to pass for xxx > hours. module that drops in where? a PAM module? > The intent is to be able to have open, but slightly protected > laptop/wireless access in order to satisfy the rules about internet2. > (eg. I'd be interested in knowing more details. Maybe I can help. I've already done my 499 project though, so I would just be helping in my free time. > I'm still trying to find another student that's willing to modify it for > Active Directory since > that has become popular. I wouldn't be able to help with this part. --Ray
