Actually I am interested. I'm slowly but surely trying to get a similar
setup going. I had a sharp camera that was pilfered while I was
visiting my sister for her graduation in Philadelphia (yes I lost that
footage :-( which can't be replaced) but I am getting another one.
What make model chipset is the firewire card that you have?

I have a little Panasonic Digital Palmcorder (model PV-DV51D, if you're really
interested). It has a firewire port, and I use the EXPERIMENTAL/UNSTABLE
Linux firewire support module.
