Here's my "fstab" line. What does yours look like?
/mnt/cdrom /mnt/cdrom supermount
dev=/dev/scd0,fs=iso9660,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0

Some comments on using XCdroast in Mandrake 8.2, I don't think it has
been reported anywhere else:
Mandrake uses supermount as default in fstab which is great but it
also causes some problems. For example, it does not allow me to
install MS Office under Codeweavers' Crossover (couldn't find the
cdrom drive). I had to manually umount the cdrom drive (i.e.,
unmounted it as a supermount), then mount it with the regular -t
iso9660 -o -ro options.
With regard to XCdroast, in order to make it work under Mandrake, I
had to go to "Mandrake Control Center", "Mount Point", then mount
Cdburner as scd0. Voila!
Once I was successful in doing that, I then did the same thing for my
other Cdrom, mounted it as scd1. Everything works great. I can now
duplicate CDROMS on the fly.
