I have had success with a sony trv-340 combo digital camera/ video camera. I can plug its usb interface into my ibook running Debian, and the smart stick storage media becomes available as /dev/sda1. I mount it where I want it and bingo. I was amazed at the automagic ease. I have an older sandisk compact flash adaptor. I have to load several modules to use it. Newer models just require that you have the usb_storage module loaded. Soon I will buy another adaptor. I will be extremely interested in any of your experiences as well. A school has approached me with a desire to build a linux only photo workshop. I would like to make it a LTSP project, but I don't know yet if the cameras can be mounted to thin clients. scott
