CompUSA is having a sale on the Fuji FinePix 1300 -- $99 Here's the tech specs:
1.3 MegaPixels (1.31 million pixels) 1280x960 at 24bits 8MB SmartMedia card included Lens is equivalent to a 36mm (wide angle) Flash 1.6" LCD monitor USB Connector So far, I am having fun with this camera. It connects to my computer using the the USB Mass Storage device (/dev/sda). With 8MB, it can take 24 high-resolution pictures (I am considering getting a 64MB card for this camera). I do have some problems with the picture quality, the plastic lens does not create as sharp an image as a glass lens. I'm not planning on doing studio photography with this puppy. Another problem I have is with the ergonomics - There is a switch on the side of the camera to change the depth-of-focus from close to infinity. There is no indication of the focus length in the LCD or the viewfinder -- so I am forced to doublecheck the side of the camera before I start shooting. The optics are located on the right front of the camera's face, meaning that I have to be careful not to smudge the lens whenever I take a shot. There are other problems I have with the ergonomics -- but these sorts of issues are present on most every camera now available, even on some of the 'high-end' digicams offered by Canon and Nikon. For $99 bucks, however, this camera is a great deal.
