I agree you were too harsh on Edward, but you are the most active posteron this list and your stuff is always informative and focused, and I'm sure like myself most appriciate your effort and professionalism. But it only enhances the cause of open sourse and Linux to entertain post like that in question. I filter the list to a seperate inbox by the "[luau]" header, could it be possible to create a "[luau:Off-topic] header to catch anything like Edwards post.He did take the time to seek out the list and sign on,folkscould be made aware at sign up that if they questioned the material of their post they should sent it to Off-topic where all sins are forgiven.Hard core could always filter the off-topic to the bit bucket. Just a thought;I personally didn't mind the post, and when I saw it three times I realized why he wasn't playing with GIMP himself. But since you asked,I would leave things as they are, with the possiblechange of a loose policy statement that people would be taken to before they were allowed to sign up.TKX
Maybe a better idea would be to create a new list. Some people on here would probably like to see the advertising and requests, maybe others wouldn't. We can keep LUAU "pure" and have another space for "advertising" (of whatever is deemed appropriate) and requests for hire.
I do agree a policy needs to be written. This is the second time in recent memory that these sorts of issues have come up.
