Got apt-get installed? Remove the default sources and add this to your /etc/sources.list: rpm ftp://videl.ics.hawaii.edu/mirrors/apt/ redhat/8.0/en/i386 os updates freshrpms Then use: apt-get install acroread-plugin Otherwise grab the two packages from here: http://www.gurulabs.com/download Make sure that you use their plugin and wrapper, because otherwise it will simply refuse to work in Red Hat 8.0 due to the UTF-8 locale.
