Here is a copy of a message I sent to Xandros support:
At this point, I think I will say aloha to Xandros; as you know, aloha means many things, in this case means goodbye. After all the difficulties I had, trying to make it work in my newest machine, I went back and installed it in my old K-6, the machine I sort of learned Linux on. The machine had been running mandrake 9 very happily. This is the same machine that many months ago I installed Corel OS/2 (download) which worked like a dream except for inability to get sound working. I am surprised and amazed that starting with Corel OS/2 which worked almost perfectly, Xandros does not seem to work very well. It installed fairly well, found my network card, had difficulty with DHCP, could not find a DNS which I had to enter manually, in contrast to Corel. RealPlayer came up, froze, did not work, would not close unless I rebooted. Same thing for XM MS. I tried to install WordPerfect 8 for Linux, was amazed that you had not supplied the proper support files which would not have been much of an effort. I tried to install the Napster client from the Internet, downloaded the .deb file and was completely mystified by your install process. I will not return the product, will not ask for a refund, because I believe in supporting the overall Linux effort and wish you well in your future versions. Good luck.
