Thanks for asking. The grand scheme for the space is to have a few stand alone workstations with different flavors of Linux, and several thin clients running off our dual athlon mp, 2gb ram test and development server. Where we are now in this grand scheme is: 1.Installing a distro on another machine to give us two stand alone stations. 2.Memtesting about 30 new arrivals 3.Completing some configuration on the test server. 4.Making or finding some catV cable 5.There are a lot of boxes with usable stuff that we need to separate and categorize. 6.There is a lot of stuff on the floor. I am trying to get it neat and orderly, but it will be perhaps two more weeks before it is a showroom vs. a work in process. There is nothing above anyone's head here. As time goes by, one will be able to come by and see machines in the early phase of testing and refurbishing. This is a great opportunity to see the "guts" of a computer without risking harm to anyone. One will also be able to play around on finished workstations. If one would like, they can bring in a machine that they want to install Linux on, and we/I will help. In the process of being around, one can ask any question and someone will try to answer. Please know that you are welcome anytime. We are in a workroom in the warehouse. The cashiers are happy to point you there if you tell them that you have come to help with the computers. scott we also are working on some of the happy fun graphics, like the carrot crunching bunny image, for a cd burning gui :-)
