Oh man. I know I've solved that problem a few times, but I can't remember for the life of me.
It sounds like the server is not running. Did you make sure that it is? Is there a file called /tmp/mysql.sock? Can you check to see what it says in /var/yourhostname.err, or wherever mysql is logging? Thanks! James
