If you read Mike Harris' message, there is little any Open Source group can do to fix nVidia problems even in the Open Source nv driver because nVidia refuses to release specs of the hardware.
You also cannot expect them to fix problems in the nVidia binary only drivers. They are UNSUPPORTED on Red Hat. You must deal with nVidia directly for support. His messages about what to do and try are only if you are using the Open Source driver. Warren Mike Harris seems like a major league ahole to me. And BTW I have reinstalled RH 8.0 and it runs fine so whatever is changed between 8.0 and 9.0 IS THE PROBLEM. 8.0 runs fine and there are no problems with the video card regardless of what Mike Harris says. Since you are here in Hawaii Warren why don't you make an appointment with me on a Saturday at Pricebusters and i will show you exactly what I am talking about. Anyways, I will try nVidia but I went back to the "nv" driver cuz the Nvidia binaries weren't working either. You may want to submit to Mike that he should actually try to be more helpful to folks that pay for the Red Hat Membership rather than to basically call me a liar. Sorry but attitudes like that are what will keep me from using Red Hat Software in the future. I'll try another flavor for now. Maddog
