Hi all, please excuse me for not posting sooner. I had to fly to San Diego on Sunday and have just now been able to get my email and reply.
There are many reasons why the classes were canceled. The biggest problem was that while we had good people come forward to teach the class. The time it would take to hire the teacher would have pushed the class pass the time we could run the class. This is a new area we are getting into and I thought this would be a good way to start by running a few Linux classes. In the end we were not able to run many classes this time. There issues that need to be worked out before we run computer classes this Fall at McKinley. The labs are really coming along and I want to start running some HOSEF classes there very soon. If you would like to teach a short HOSEF class please send me an email. It would either be in the evening from M-F 6-9p or Saturday after 1pm. I'm open to any ideas or suggestions you may have. However, paying customers was not the issue. The Samba teacher who flaked out at the last minute was. The SQL class had excellent applications, but the process of hiring and approving the instructor would have cut too much into class time. We have a HOSEF lab there, and we will have classes that will be less formal but equally compelling. Stay tuned for more to come and keep up the interest. --scott On Monday 16 June 2003 01:52 pm, Maddog wrote: > Thanks to all who made the effort to sign up and PAY for the class.
