I think most of us look at it this way. 1. You can't just warn people your about to break a rule and expect that to make it OK. 2. There are millions of issues going on that affect everyone in the US. We are informed. This LUG is in place because of issues relating to open source. It is not up to you to decide what other issues you think we need to be informed on. 3. Off topic, controversial posts are flame bait. That should be evident by the amount of annoyed members replying to you publicly and privately.
Like I said in my private reply, please think twice before deliberately posting this far off topic. You damage the quality of LUAU when you do this. Respectfully, again, -Cody Taylor -----Original Message----- From: Deven Phillips [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, July 15, 2003 9:25 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [luau] Off Topic - And getting further off topic To all who are annoyed at my post, take a look at it this way: 1. I labelled it "Off Topic", so if you didn't want to read it you had ample warning and you could have just deleted the message 2. Its an issue that affects everyone in the US, and therefore I felt that everyone I know might be able to benefit from the information 3. There was no flamebait in the message. If you really are that angry, then I am sorry. If you really are that angry, you didn't need to tie up even more time on this list voicing your anger. E-mail me directly. _______________________________________________ LUAU mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://videl.ics.hawaii.edu/mailman/listinfo/luau
