Looks like you have a very "dirty" connection. I don't why this is so but I have experienced similar problems, though not so severe, when I used the official fedora repository (as provided in the default yum.conf file).

Copy the following text and save it as yum.conf. Then copy it over your default /etc/yum.conf (of course you must be in root to so this), run yum update again. Later on when you have time, you can play with it to suit your particular needs. But for now, it should work. wayne
