So apparently Oceanic is now supporting a multistream cable card for Windows 7....which also means other folks can snag those cards even if they¹re not running Win7. Specifically the Ceton quad tuner card with a cable card slot (piggy back) is officially supported for those that need quad tuners and want to get to the channels higher than 78 (other than the six on clear QAM). Oh yeah, the tech support person said the rent on those cards are $2.50/month....and then whatever you pay for premium channels....the crypto is loaded to the cable card and is utilized by the tuner to get to scrambled channels.
I got the word from Oceanic Tech support, which means the Ceton card is mainstream enough that it¹s made it into their tech support scripts...wheeeeeee..... /brian chee -- Brian Chee University of Hawai'i at Manoa School of Ocean and Earth Sciences and Technology (SOEST) 2525 Correa Road, HIG 500 Honolulu, HI 96822 Tel: 808-956-5797 _______________________________________________ LUAU@lists.freesoftwarehawaii.org mailing list http://lists.freesoftwarehawaii.org/listinfo.cgi/luau-freesoftwarehawaii.org
