You are right, that's why I said it's only OK for old PCs. And usually,
people won't use modern devices for such PCs. Indeed, 2.6 kernel
supports much more, but the quality of the code is falling since the
2.4->2.6 transition. I hope the upstream AND the kernel policy will
change. Since if they provide a bad base , and bad apps, no distro dev
can create a good release.

"Unfortunately some hardware will not run so well on the 2.4 kernel and
needs many of the features in the newer kernels. Sure the OS is light
but people (like myself) who don't have the slowest systems, still like
to leave maximum resources for actual applications to run rather than a
bloated desktop.
