That seems like a good idea until people try Deadbeef... I suggested it to a few people and they all loved it. It seems a perfect choice for a light distro and I'd say: go for it in 10.10. But that is just my personal opinion. And some other point to consider: some old computers can't even play some videos properly due to very old hardware, while all can play music. That's why I was thinking about Xnoise: a music player that can play videos too seems better than a video player that can play music.
