The rest of my friends to who i've installed Lubuntu never have used Cheese, neither do i. It's something fancy, but not required.
It should be something like a document or an app somewhere that says something like "Preferred Applications to..." make somethings extra, and there enumerate apps that Lubuntu recommends to do certain things.
