I talked with the creator of this control center. He made a version without effects. You can find it on http://people.ubuntu.com/~gilir/control-center/ You can launch it in a terminal : Normal mode: tuquito-control-center Faster mode: tuquito-control-center fast Could you test on your machine if it's faster ?
