Best practices regarding checksums is to present one for each and not suggest that people look elsewhere. With each ISO that's released, the checksum should be presented with it. Some distros actually offer .zip files that have an ISO and a checksum file for the ISO. This makes it so that if you're forced to work offline, you can still calculate your accuracy.
