My initial thoughts: #1: When booting the live CD, just after selecting language, select "Check disc for defects". It takes several minutes to complete. If that shows no defects found move to step #2:
#2: When rebooting the live CD select language and with "Try Lubuntu w/o installing" highlighted press F6 which will display several optional boot parameters. From there select "nomodeset" using the arrow keys, press enter to apply (you'll know it's applied by an "x" next to it), then press Esc. Now the "nomodeset" boot option will be applied when you boot. That's sometimes helpful troubleshooting graphics card compatibility issues with the Xserver. What GPU do you use? Did you MD5 test the ISO you burned and did you burn as slowly as possible? The MD5 test is correct on both Lubuntu & Ubuntu discs, both burned as slowly as possible. The hardware is a quad core with dual graphics (i know is far from lubuntu target, but i love lubuntu... what can i do!) an A8 AMD with an AMD Radeon HD 6620G. In 11.04 it works... :'( -----Inline Attachment Follows----- _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
