Wow, that is killer! I really didn't understand what was going on under the hood when I first was exposed to Nautilus way back when but I was impressed with its flexibility. That we have this same core I think would be important in my opinion. If the LXDE wiki is to be believed [1] then "full" support is given. There is a network drives icon in the menu and there is the network:/// screen (same thing) even though there may not be a network. I guess someone needs to sit down with all the schemas and put some documentation together and give it over to PCMan. I'd be happy to help if need be.
