An add on re Powermanagement/suspend to ram/suspend to disk

In the xfce powermanagement options the suspend to ram options are
disactivated. Why?

Suspending the powerbook to disk results in a failure trying to wake
up the computer. The failure is the same i described for the alpha
live-cd. After the end of the power-on process there is a unreadable
line in the left side ground of the screen. Even assuming that might
be the xscreensaver login and filling in my pswd results in nothing. I
have to do a hard reboot.

The same works correctly with debian+lxde. As well in this setup the
computer can be suspended as well to ram.

(Tommorrow i'll try to uninstall the xfce-powermanagement and to
substitute it with gnome powermanagement)
