I had for a long time the Lubuntu 10.10 but due to RAM size with only 196 MB I decided to strip it down by using the Lubuntu-core only. So far so good. As the GDM display manager supported me with the Autologin feature I continued to do so for the upgrade to 11.04 and worked perfect. Now, when upgrading to Lubuntu 11.10 it suddenly stuck on the display manager to login wit all my credentials. After reboot I was not able to get even the desktop anymore. After reboot my display only showed me a black screen. I've checked if the GDM disappeared but it was still there. Might be that the LightDM got in conflict with the GDM ? If there was someone that can do a similar test with me it would be great. If more details are needed I am happily would like to share these. So to start of first was my installation with the alternate iso Lubuntu 10.10. Then remove everything with installing only the Lubuntu-core and upgrade till Lubuntu 11.10 and see if this works fine by enabling the GDM autologin feature from Lubuntu 10.10. -- This message was sent from Launchpad by hosoka (https://launchpad.net/~hosoka) to each member of the Lubuntu-QA team using the "Contact this team" link on the Lubuntu-QA team page (https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-qa).
