Hello there not sure if this is going to help or not but I thought that I would give installing lubuntu on one of my older g4's this is how it went
dialog installer background was red Time from pressing enter till first install screen(yabot) 1m:49s installing and configuring kernel 3.2.0.-18 ppc 1m06s total time of install 47m 16 Did it boot after install NO Did it boot after 2nd install NO does it get to plymouth boot screen NO Please let me know if there is anything that I can do.
