AFAIK they're just doing the last spins and tidy up before A1 goes 'milestone' release. It seems Lubuntu is flying the flag for ppc arch! I *think* kubuntu will join in part way through the cycle once they're ready to bring all their variants on. I've no idea what xubuntu has planned.
