We're getting down to the wire here and the pressure is heavy on all fronts. For ppc, though, we're in real danger of sinking, at least for this release.
I had a long chat with Phill, who's been in the uncomfortable position of being the Point of Contact (POC) for ppc even though he doesn't have a machine to test on. I agreed to step up and be the POC in his place since I do have the machine. I must say (and I warned him of this), I am limited on time and I'm also in the wrong time zone for those horribly-early Ubuntu QA meetings, so if anyone else wants to do more of a 50% job, let me know! Meanwhile, we've got two really big problems that need our attention, both of which relate to video: 1. A Radeon bug filed against X 2. A nVidia bug filed against Linux Please do a: $ lspci | grep VGA to figure out which card you have and divert your attention to providing information on these problems. Make sure your comments include which card you're using, which exact iso you're using (include the date), dmesg, Xorg.0.log, screenshots and anything else you can think of. If you need help figuring out what to do please let me know. Long story short, we need these squashed if PPC is to survive and we're running out of time. Here's what you should NOT do: just report your findings here. It's great for us to discuss this but the results need to be comments on bugs for devs to react to them. Furthermore, as many of these are very low-level fixes, the devs doing the fixing are not even here. So, please, PLEASE don't waste your time and only include info on this list or on IRC. Put it in a bug report! I appreciate all of you taking the time to make this work, but now is the time to focus and refine our efforts.
