Well, I waded through the PPCFAQ last night and made my first xorg.conf. It was surprisingly easy. I have certainly made progress. I now have a good looking display with no other boot parameters. The only exception (a big one) is that the windows are blank. I tried to figure out as much as I could but about fell asleep on my laptop trying to wade through the xorg.conf man page. So I'm reaching out to the wider community [1]. Yes, I'm doing something I never do: posting to the forums. If you want to weigh in, feel free.
