Lars, Saw symptom you describe in unofficial LMDE KDE port once on AMD64 and it was slideshow problem. Workaround there was: sudo mv /usr/share/live-installer/slideshow/index.html /usr/share/live-installer/slideshow/index.html.bak and then start the live installer
Might be worth noting that many PPC users are having to boot with video= parameters that force non-accelerated graphic driver. I would expect KDE to be very slow in this case unless it is a G5 dual or better. YMMV If no installer logs in /var/log, I have no other ideas. :) Regards, Str8 -----Original Message----- From: Lubuntu-qa [mailto:lubuntu-qa-bounces+str8bslinux=gmail....@lists.launchpad.net] On Behalf Of Lars Noodén Sent: Wednesday, April 24, 2013 5:08 AM To: Lubuntu QA Subject: Re: [Lubuntu-qa] [PPC] Kubuntu On 4/24/13 1:03 PM, Nio Wiklund wrote: > On 2013-04-24 10:36, Lars Noodén wrote: >> On 4/23/13 1:15 PM, Ho Wan Chan wrote: >>> Sorry we are currently respinning. The symptoms with the desktop version > (graphical installer) are the same as you describe. I guess there's 1 GB (1024700 kB). The full specs are here: http://people.ubuntu.com/~larsnooden/Hw/g4.ti.hwinfo I've not had a problem like that with the Lubuntu installer, but that is clearly different. Even though the Kubuntu installer quits quietly, there might be a place were the errors are reported to a log. Any ideas?
