Hi Boss,

I've had a chat with knome (xubuntu Team Leader) about what system they use
for their off line manual. They use docbook, but this is not translatable.
The docs team have recently had a discussion on the steep learning curve
and lack of resources easily available for new members to use (it uses bzr,
for example). I've sent an email to that team asking if there is now a good
set of instructions yet available for us who do not know bzr etc. But,
while I await their answer I'd like your thoughts on using docbook and
being locked into English compared to extra workload that a translatable
one?

@ JasonO, how are your XML skills? There is an example of the xubuntu
docbook at
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-doc/xubuntu-docs/raring/view/head:/desktop-guide/C/internet-networks.xml
There
are some GUI tools discussed at [1].

Your thoughts?

Regards,

Phill.
