[some [more] added results at the end] Hi Jonathan,
After update/upgrade of lightdm I can continue testing. I found that usb-creator-gtk still suffers from some bug(s) in a *live session*. #1165200 or #1054712 ? Maybe one of the old usb-creator-gtk bug or another one: anyway there is 'Segmentation fault' before the casper-rw file is created. $ usb-creator-gtk /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/gi/overrides/GLib.py:53: PyGIDeprecationWarning: threads_init longer needs to be called. See: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=686914 PyGIDeprecationWarning) Segmentation fault (core dumped) 1. Your two python packages (python-gudev & gir1.2-gudev) seem to be included already, but there are still problems. 2. Do you understand the error output? Best regards Nio Edit: I installed usb-creator-kde (into the live session) and used it to create a persistent live USB drive. It worked, but it was not perfect. I could not choose size of the casper-rw file. It was fixed to 1 GB even when I wiped a full 16GB USB3 pendrive. The persistent live system works and boots into a graphical user interface (remembers that there is an updated lightdm program). Edit2: I managed to run usb-creator-gtk without any problems in an *installed* Lubuntu Saucy Alpha 2 32-bit system (dated Jul 23 2013). It created a casper-rw file, and I have tested that persistence works. Things are improving gradually :-) Best regards Nio -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-qa Post to : lubuntu-qa@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-qa More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
