In a new installation of Quantal, I find that the PDF printer driver installed by cups-pdf is not working.

Regular printing to an HP Laserjet under the hplip package works fine.

Has anyone else experienced this?

John:

I have two HP printers, one connected to a parallel port, and the other a network printer connected via wireless.

I have been able to print with no problems, including via printing directly from within LibreOffice Writer.

I know I use the hplip package for my network printer, but the other one, I configured.

I have other computers in my network using both the wireless printer, and the one connected via a parallel port to my main computer. The main computer is configured to export its printers, and other machines make use of it.

It seems that I had one of the other computers set up to use that parallel-connected (exported) printer, but later, after updates were installed (that included CUPS updates), it seems that configuration disappeared, and I had to re-configure it (the other computer didn't see any exported printers any more).
