I don't believe Ubuntu one is loaded on startup, since it isn't fully installed until you decide to launch and use it. In other words it appears that the Ubuntu one client , at least before use, is just a splash screen and install button.

Sometimes, they may have some good ideas we can also implement. However, when I see : "Runs great on any 64bit PC with 1 GB ram." I fear it's not as lightweight as we want on Lubuntu.
