I think everybody can decide to run a linux version, that is not
supported or only partially supported with security updates. It
probably works well without any intruder stealing information or
using your system for other illegal purposes. But I would never
recommend it for somebody else, because there is an increased risk,
that the system might get compromised. And Lubuntu 12.04 will be
only partially supported after October 2013.
Unfortunately, I'm not a System Security Specialist/Expert so that I
can give an accurate answer for that. However, from my understanding,
and I could be wrong: As long as the Core System is an LTS (12.04)
and as long as this LTS Core System is supported for 5 years and as
long as I'm receiving the important security updates from the
repositories, and as long as I can still run: sudo apt-get upgrade
without any error/issue so my system is up to date ... I would NEVER
be worried about anything whatsoever. I would never think my system
could be compromised.

If one of these packages is related to System Security and won't be
updated after 18 months from releasing 12.04 then ONLY that time, I
might be a little bit worried.
I would suggest you have a look at [1] to see the packages that have had
security problems in the past. Some, such as the kernel, firefox or
flash, are obvious candidates for exploits, but others aren't so
obvious. Who'd have thought inkscape [2] could be used to exploit a machine.
